The Royals had a spectacular season! They had a seven wins to start the season. They also had eight players go to the All Star Game in July. The Royals traded for Johnny Cueto and Ben Zobrist.

They also won the division for the first time in 30 years. They went up against the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series. They beat the Astros in five games to advance to the American League Championship Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, and then they beat the Blue Jays in six games to go on to the World Series against the New York Mets.

They played five games against the Mets and in the final game, they came back in the ninth inning and did their thing. They just kept the line moving like they had always done and scored two runs. Then in the twelfth inning they scored five runs and then they gave the ball to Wade Davis. He pitched three strikeouts in a row and then they all celebrated! The Royals had finally broken their 30 year span of not winning the World Series!
