Mr. York has been working as a loyal teacher for five years, starting back in the 2012-2013 school year. But not many people know really that much about him! So, let’s start. He was born on August 1, 1981, and he has both a younger brother and sister. When he was five, he almost drowned in his neighbor’s pool, having slid from the shallow end to the deep end- but thankfully his dad jumped in, saving him.

His mom put him in swimming lessons after that. As he grew, he loved movies and sports, and wanted to be a professional athlete. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2005. He then married a kindergarten teacher on July 1, 2006.

He coaches basketball, and PKMS is the only school he’s taught at, teaching 6th and 8th grade science. Before that, he worked in the business world as a waiter, a rental car manger, recreational supervisor, and postal carrier (but even through all that, he’s always wanted to be a dad!). He sponsors Science club and co-sponsors Game club.

A person who inspires him is his dad because he’s a hard worker, honest, and always willing to help people out.

Mr. York is a crazy and lovable teacher, and he hopes to make a difference in this crazy world we call home.
